Tantric Sex

Tantric sex may be briefly described as a part of an ancient spiritual practice that dates from 5000 years ago, and it was an important part of the Eastern culture. Similarly to Yoga and Zen, tantric sex was practiced aiming spiritual enlightenment, although differently from other practices, tantric sex had a stronger focus on sex. Today, tantric sex practices and techniques are used for a not so spiritual purpose, but since the 70’s thanks to the war and peace movement, tantric sex gained popularity and a different approach. Although in the past the purpose of tantric sex was spiritual enlightenment, today it is viewed as a way of finding new and increased pleasures in the bedroom, utilizing the techniques of the original tantric tradition.

Tantric sex specialists claim that in addition to fuller and more intense orgasms, a tantric sex practitioner is able of reaching orgasms quicker (in case of women) and having a complete control of their orgasm and ejaculation (in the case of men). In addition, tantric sex enthusiasts enjoy a more sensitized sex play, and become more connected to their partners, in spiritual, emotional and physical aspects. Sex for a tantric sex enthusiast is not only physical aiming only pleasure, but an actual experience that may influence in many aspects of both partner’s lives.

The key of all tantric sex practices is breathing. Using only their breath, tantric sex enthusiasts are able to spread the so called orgasmic energy from their genitalia to their whole body and also their minds. Some tantric sex specialists refer to the practice as if sex becomes “being” rather than doing it.

Tantric sex practices also involve several sexual positions which are claimed to facilitate the sexual energy to flow through the lovers’ bodies, and also to reach ways of pleasure which are previously unknown. Such tantric sex positions are compiled in several books and websites on the internet, as the Kama Sutra positions.
